コスチュームデザイナーとして活動している ARAKI SHIRO。2010年のロンドン。
自身のパーソナルな記憶と幻想を手掛かりにドローイングを中心とした展示を行う。
ただ無心に表現していく中で自然と染みついたscrap&buildの精神。
例えば廃棄された物との出会いを握りしめ、積み上げていく毎日。
細胞にまで突き刺さる街の情景や匂い。
現実と幻が壮大なる誤解のまま融和していき、ドローイングによって無秩序に出力される。
あの頃と今とを結ぶ不確かな糸をたぐり寄せながら再現不可能な物質に変換していく生々しい試みである。

ARAKI SHIRO works as a costume designer. 2010 London. He exhibits mainly drawings based on his personal memories and fantasies. The spirit of "scrap&build" naturally seeped into his mind as he expressed himself without thinking. For example, he clutches encounters with discarded objects and piles them up day after day. Scenes and smells of the city that penetrate into our cells. Reality and illusion are fused together in a grand misunderstanding, and the drawings are output in disorder. It is a vivid attempt to transform the uncertain thread that connects then and now into a material that cannot be reproduced.

【ARAKI SHIRO プロフィール】

日本出身のCostume Designer。
イギリスのボーンマス芸術大学において大学院修士課程を首席にて卒業。
コンセプトは『非日常空間の創出』。
人工、自然の境目なく様々な素材を融合して生み出される有機的なフォルムづくりをクリエーションの特徴としている。
Costumeを空間における新しい生命体として位置づけ、生命が根本的に備わる普遍性を取り戻す試みを行なっている。
手掛けたアーティストはLADY GAGA/MISIA/柴咲コウ/永瀬正敏/乃木坂46/櫻坂46/Aimer/窪田正孝/millennium parade×Belle(中村佳穂)/今田美桜…etc.

A Costume Designer from Japan, ARAKI SHIRO graduated from Bournemouth College of Art and Design in the UK with a Master's degree at the top of his class. His concept is "creation of extraordinary space". He positions the "Costume" as a new life form in space and attempts to restore the universality that life fundamentally possesses. The artists he has worked with include Lady Gaga, Misia, Kou Shibasaki, Masatoshi Nagase, Nogizaka46, Sakurazaka46, Aimer, Masataka Kubota, millennium parade x Belle (Kaho Nakamura), Mio Imada, and many others.
