今回の展示企画では、日本でアーバンアート*を盛り上げてきた代表的なアーティストたちによるグループ展「CONNECT TO THE GOLD DOTS（通称：CONNECT)を開催します。国内外で活躍するアーティストたちが福岡に集結する、この貴重で特別な機会をお見逃しなく。
「アート」や「美術」と聞くと、少し堅苦しく感じるかもしれませんが、今回はそんな難しいことは考えずに、気軽にアートを楽しんでほしいと考えています。アーバンアートはファッションや音楽、イベントとの親和性が高く、ブランドや企業とのコラボレーションも数多く手がけたアーティストたちが勢揃いしています。ストリートカルチャーから生まれた、アーバンアートの魅力を存分に感じてください。
ストリートカルチャーに触れたことがある方や、その影響を受けている方々にとって、心躍る企画となること間違いなし。そして、初めて触れる方々にとっては、新しいアートの楽しみ方を発見する刺激的な時間になるはずです。
*アーバンアートとは
アーバンアートとは、ストリートアートを含む、都市環境を背景にして登場したアートのことです。言語、文化、宗教、出身地の壁を超え、社会問題や資本主義などをテーマに取り上げることも多いジャンルです。ルールや規則に縛られず、アーティスト個々の手法によってピースを表現する自由なアートです。
OVERGROUND is proud to present a new show “CONNECT TO THE GOLD DOTS” (CONNECT), a group exhibition featuring some of Japan’s most prominent urban artists who have been shaping and elevating the urban art scene. This special event brings together internationally active artists for a rare and exciting gathering in Fukuoka, Japan.
When you hear the words "art" or "fine art," they may sound a little formal or intimidating, but this exhibition sets aside those preconceptions, inviting you to simply enjoy art in a relaxed and accessible way. Urban art is deeply connected to fashion, music, and live events, and the participating artists have collaborated extensively with brands and companies across the globe. This is your chance to fully immerse yourself in the vibrant world of urban art that was born from street culture.
Even if you're already familiar with street culture or have been influenced by it in some way, this show promises to spark your excitement. And for those experiencing it for the first time, it offers an inspiring and eye-opening introduction to a new way of enjoying art.
